Waterproof Cellphone

A new phone is coming out that is totally waterproof. It's called the Fujitsu F703. You can completely submerge it in water without any damage. Price and launch date haven't been determined yet, but pretty soon all cellphones will have to be made more durable in ways such as this. This idea of a waterproof phone didn't come about from lack of durability though. Research has proven that cellphones are dirtier than toilet seats, so the idea was to create a cellphone that was washable. It would be nice to not have to worry about water damage to your cellphone anymore. Sometimes people just get stuck in the rain or thrown in a pool, so I think a waterproof cellphone is a good idea. Somehow it interests me more than cutting edge technology being implemented in cellphones like mp3 players and video capabilities.

I'm a tournament fisherman. Although I represent a small minority of fishermen, I represent a rather large contingent of various specie tournament fishermen numbering in the 100's of thousands...

Personally, I have lost two cell phones over the side in as many years... they don't float, and they are worthless if they are splashed. Most of the tournament fishermen I know have had similar experiences.

I own a Garmin hand held GPS that is waterproof and it floats. Why , oh why cannot a phone manufacturer produce a waterproof, floating (need I say it? KIDPROOF) cell phone at a reasonable price?

$500.00 is a bit pricey for the one s now being sold in Japan and Korea. There is a really big market just waiting for this cell phone. C'mon! Let's get with it! I'll buy three!

Actually Casio makes a phone, that Verizon sells for 100 dollars that is mil-spec (waterproof, dirtproof, dustproof, shockproof, etc...). I currently own one and it is absolutely amazing. I dunk it under water all the time, go swimming with it, and get it thrown around all the time. I am very rough on sell phones, and normally go through one every few months, yet this one has lasted for quite a while. The phone is the Casio G'Zone. It is amazing.
